Methodology
How we source, validate, and present content on this site.
1. Source-First Approach
Every piece of content on this site is derived directly from classical Sunni works of Seerah and history. We do not publish paraphrased summaries, opinion pieces, or AI-generated content. Each event entry traces back to specific volumes, pages, and sections from authenticated published editions of primary sources.
2. No AI-Generated Islamic Content
While this website is built with modern web technology, the Islamic content itself — the events, descriptions, and historical details — is taken from established scholarly works. We believe that the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him) must be transmitted through authentic chains of knowledge, not generated by artificial intelligence.
3. Primary Sources
Our primary sources are the classical works of Seerah accepted by Sunni scholarship, including:
- Ibn Hisham — As-Sirah an-Nabawiyyah (d. 218 AH)
- Ibn Sa'd — Kitab al-Tabaqat al-Kubra (d. 230 AH)
- At-Tabari — Tarikh ar-Rusul wal-Muluk (d. 310 AH)
- Ibn Kathir — Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah (d. 774 AH)
- Al-Waqidi — Kitab al-Maghazi (d. 207 AH)
- Ibn al-Qayyim — Zad al-Ma'ad (d. 751 AH)
- Qadi Iyad — Ash-Shifa (d. 544 AH)
- Al-Mubarakpuri — Ar-Raheeq al-Makhtum (d. 1427 AH)
See our full sources page for details, links, and download options.
4. Referencing Standard
Each event includes:
- The source work(s) from which the information is drawn
- Volume and page numbers from standard published editions
- Section references where page numbers are not applicable
- Links to freely accessible digital editions for verification
5. Scope & Limitations
This site is:
- A reference for the Seerah (Prophetic biography), not a fatwa resource
- Focused on historical events, not jurisprudential rulings
- Based on Sunni scholarship — it does not represent other Islamic traditions
- An ongoing project — more events and sources will be added over time
6. Corrections & Contributions
If you find any error in sourcing, referencing, or content, please open an issue on our GitHub repository. We welcome corrections from qualified students of knowledge and scholars. All contributions must include source references.
